Integrated Counseling with Therapeutic Balancer

Integrated Counseling is a 60-minute appointment for those who are clear about their core issue and are working towards resolution. Integrated Counseling uses traditional counseling modalities coupled with supportive technology such as Healy or Zyto to speed the healing and repatterning process. Traditional counseling may incorporate the following counseling modalities:

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term form of behavioral treatment. It helps people problem-solve. CBT also reveals the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and the behaviors that follow. Through CBT, people learn that their perceptions directly influence how they respond to specific situations. In other words, a person’s thought process informs their behaviors and actions.

Client-directed outcome-informed therapy (CDOI) is an approach to mental health treatment that values the experience of the person in therapy above all else, emphasizing the person's evaluation of both the therapeutic alliance and the treatment itself. The feedback provided by the person in therapy serves as a compass to guide the direction of further treatment, and measurement tools help determine whether the individual continues to benefit from the therapeutic relationship and still finds it to be a good fit.

Psychodynamic therapy is the psychological interpretation of mental and emotional processes. Rooted in traditional psychoanalysis, it draws from object relations, ego psychology, and self psychology. It was developed as a simpler, less-lengthy alternative to psychoanalysis.  Psychodynamic therapy helps people gain insight into their lives and present-day problems. Recognizing recurring patterns can help people see how they avoid distress or develop defense mechanisms to cope. This insight allows them to initiate change for the better.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a revolutionary treatment method that offers healing from physical and emotional pain and disease. Without the use of needles, this form of acupuncture uses the fingertips to stimulate energy points on the body. Developed by Gary Craig, this is an easily mastered technique that can be performed virtually anywhere. This treatment sprang from the idea that, "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."

Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT), a therapeutic method incorporating the use of light, color wavelengths, and eye movements, aims to rapidly transform emotional distress and related physical pain into a positive emotional state.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate traumatic memory distress (Shapiro, 1989a, 1989b). Shapiro’s (2001) Adaptive Information Processing model posits that EMDR therapy facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories and other adverse life experience to bring these to an adaptive resolution.

Guided therapeutic imagery a technique which helps individuals in therapy focus on mental images in order to evoke feelings of relaxation based on the concept of mind-body connection. Mind-body connection upholds the interaction between body and mind as one important factor in a person’s overall health and well-being. In guided therapeutic imagery, a person can call on mental images to improve both emotional and physical health.
